New York City Housing Development Corporation (HDC) is a public benefit corporation that provides financing for the construction and rehabilitation of affordable multi-family housing projects in New York City. The New York State Housing Finance Agency (HFA) provides low cost, flexible financing for the creation and preservation of high quality, affordable multi-family housing. HFA meets this goal by lending the proceeds of federally tax-exempt private activity bonds, taxable bonds, or tax-exempt 501(c)(3) bonds to provide low-cost mortgages to private and not-for-profit developers.
